For a citizen, value from public data can mean understanding how resources are spent, finding information or accessing a service.

For a public administration, it can mean understanding its area better and using available information to make decisions and carry out its work.

For a business, it can mean understanding the context in which it operates and using local data to assess its choices.

Manto aims to build products that make these uses possible. AI provides a way to work with large amounts of information and make it useful to the people who need it.

How this takes shape in our current projects.

DoveVannoINostriSoldi is about understanding public resources. It organises official spending data so that it can be read and explored by area. Its purpose is to enable more people to understand how public money is used.

Italia Aperta is about using public services. Pino helps people find and understand official information. SuperPino helps prepare and, where possible, send a report to a municipality, with user confirmation and human review.

The two projects apply the same vision to different tasks: understanding public spending and using public information to find a service or take action.

Working with data.

Gathering sources, organising information, connecting it and interpreting it are part of the work required to build these products. We want to use AI extensively throughout this process.

People using the result should be able to understand where the information comes from, how recent it is and what its limitations are. Decisions and checks that require accountability remain with people.
